William B. Fitzgerald Arbitration and Mediation
William B. Fitzgerald has 10 years experience as a full time neutral. He tried over 100 jury and court trials. He has served as arbitrator in more than 200 arbitrations for private providers and for the courts. He has arbitrated and mediated, as both a neutral and as an advocate, in business and commercial disputes and in many other diverse legal fields including, professional liability, product liability, real estate and healthcare. During his long career as a trial lawyer, he developed the skills essential for presiding over and managing complex adversarial proceedings and the techniques and experience necessary to conduct successful mediations.
He is a member of the Large Complex Case Panel of Arbitrators of the American Arbitration Association and the California Panel of Neutrals of CPR International Institute for Dispute Resolution.
Prior to practicing exclusively in ADR, he was a litigation partner in two national law firms, Morgan, Lewis & Bockius and Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison. He was elected a Fellow of both the College of Commercial Arbitrators and of the American College of Trial Lawyers.
He has extensive training in ADR work and has lectured on ADR and litigation at many national forums. He currently serves as a member of the ADR Committee of the Los Angeles Superior Court. He is a graduate of Harvard Law School. Click on the pages listed at the left for more information.
